For many patients in Brussels and Wallonia, the first question about dental treatment in Turkey is not only "how much?" but "who will see me before I go, and who will I see when I come back?" At D-Care Belgium in Ixelles, Brussels, you can begin your treatment journey with an in-person dental consultation close to home, before you book a flight to Antalya. This article explains what that first appointment involves, what it can and cannot decide, and how it connects with our clinic in Side.

Why see a dentist in Brussels before treatment in Turkey?

Photos and a video call can give a first impression, but they cannot replace a clinical examination. Seeing a dentist in person before you travel helps to:

  • spot gum disease, infection or loose teeth that may need attention before implants or crowns

  • understand whether you are likely to be a candidate for dental implants, All-on-4 / All-on-6, zirconia crowns or veneers

  • identify which imaging is still needed, such as a panoramic X-ray or a 3D CBCT scan

  • talk through your medical history, your medications and any anxiety about treatment

  • plan a realistic timeline, including whether one trip or two is likely

Just as importantly, you meet a team face to face before committing to anything, and you know exactly where you can return for check-ups after treatment.

What happens at the consultation in Ixelles

The appointment is a conversation as much as an examination. You can expect:

  • a review of your dental and medical history, including factors such as diabetes, blood thinners or smoking that can influence healing

  • an examination of your teeth, gums and bite

  • a discussion of your goals: chewing comfort, appearance, budget and how much time you can spend travelling

  • guidance on the records our team in Turkey needs: recent X-rays or a CBCT scan, photos and any previous treatment reports

  • time for all your questions, without pressure to decide on the day

With your agreement, your records are then shared with our team at D-Care Turkey in Side, so the surgeons and the prosthodontist can review your case before you travel and prepare a treatment proposal.

What the consultation can — and cannot — decide

A consultation in Brussels gives you a much clearer picture, but the final treatment plan is only confirmed after a complete examination and up-to-date imaging. In Side we use an intraoral scanner and review 3D imaging before any surgery. Sometimes this changes the plan: bone volume may be different than expected, or a tooth that looked savable may not be. If anything changes, we explain it and the reasons for it before treatment begins.

For this reason we do not promise a fixed price or a guaranteed result from photos alone. What we can offer is transparency: you will know what is proposed, why it is proposed, and which alternatives exist.

How D-Care Belgium and D-Care Turkey work together

Our two clinics work as one team across two countries. In practice, your journey looks like this:

  • Before travel: consultation in Ixelles, collection of your records and a treatment proposal from Side

  • In Turkey: treatment at our clinic in Side / Manavgat, led by Dr. Öznur Yedek (surgeon and head of clinic) together with surgeon Emin, dentist Bilal and prosthodontist Çisel

  • Comfort: for All-on-4 / All-on-6 and multiple implants, conscious sedation administered by an anaesthesiologist

  • Stay and transfers: partner hotels Side Moon Palace and Side Amour Hotel, with clinic–hotel–airport transfers organised through a TÜRSAB-licensed agency

  • After you return: check-ups and follow-up in Ixelles, with information shared between both clinics

This means you are not on your own once you fly home. If something feels unusual — swelling, discomfort with a temporary prosthesis, a crown that feels loose — you can contact us and arrange to be seen in Brussels, while the team in Side stays informed about your case.

How to prepare for your first appointment

  • a list of your medications and medical conditions

  • any recent X-rays or scans (on USB, CD or via a digital link)

  • previous dental reports or treatment plans from other dentists

  • a few photos of your smile if appearance is one of your concerns

  • your questions written down — no question is too small
